We have all heard the term GREEN, and the phrase “Go Green.” During sweeps week in 2008, NBC had all of their shows, “Go Green.” But what does it really mean to “Go Green”? The dictionary now includes a definition for the word GREEN, “environmentally sound or beneficial.” Therefore to “Go Green” an individual or organization must act in a way that reduces harm to the environment.

The Kentucky Chiropractic Association, Inc. (The KCA) is proud to be spearheading a BOLD, NEW INITIATIVE to inform the public about the ecological benefits of Chiropractic care by debuting the slogan, “Go Green Go Chiropractic.”

We live in an increasingly polluted world, and the public has just began to recognize the impact that their energy consumption, transportation and consumer choices are having on the lives of their children and their children’s children. There are ENERGY STAR rated appliances, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL), and recycling bins in most of the homes in America, but only 8% of families utilize Chiropractic care.

Despite the growing awareness of how our actions affect the environment, people have yet to understand that the GREEN perspective can also apply to our healthcare choices. Chiropractors have a great opportunity to be at the forefront of a movement to simultaneously improve the lives of the ailing public as well as the environment.

The Chiropractor has been GREEN from its inception, being GREEN is the very essence of Chiropractic care. The foundation of Chiropractic care is to restore the self-regenerating and self-healing properties of the human body without the use of chemicals, foreign bodies, or genetically manipulated viruses.

For the sake of the planet and ourselves, we have to spread the word that Chiropractic care is much like wind or solar energy: it gives us what we want and need without having to rely on any harmful and finite external goods.

That is why the KCA boldly shouts, “GO GREEN GO CHIROPRACTIC.” Get the word out there, tell your doctor, your patients, your neighbors, your friends, your co-workers: changing to Chiropractic treatment is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and improve your health and wellbeing at the same time!
